Pandora

HAVE YOU SEEN THIS??!! Tivo has changed the viewing habits of my family. Pandora.com may do the same for my listening habits. Rarely do I find a radio station that plays enough songs that really satisfy me. So I read this month in Fastcompany magazine about pandora. You simply type in a song or a group and they start a radio station for you based on a lot of factors.

I typed in U2. It played U2's God Part II, which I don't ever recall hearing... and I loved it. Then it played a Sammy Hagar song, which when I saw Sammy's name, I was ready to hate, but I didn't. Then it played a guy I didn't know. Liked it. Then it played "Make Love Like a Man." Didn't like it. Skipped it. Supposedly it changes the whole profile when you give a song a thumbs down. Then it played another U2 song.

I then registered. Set up Dave Matthews Band. Didn't listen long, but liked the selections it was giving me.

Then Third Day. Not the usual suspects followed. I think I'm really going to like this service.

It is free with advertising thrown in. But so far it is not intrusive.

Try this Tom, Brant, Lance, ...

Yeah -- I love this.

I love how you can continue sharpening the sound, too, by filtering the occasional clunker.

Found some cool bands, which is so fun, in this age of iTunes...

Another thanks for the tip. I actually listened to the "station" it was creating for me for a couple of hours at work ... which is highly unusual for me. I switch web radio stations as often as I change television channels!
