Lance Falls

Yesterday, my dear friend Lance calls me. "I'm leaving for Sweden tomorrow." Our friend Doug Molgaard is in Sweden, starting new churches. Pretty exciting. I feel a little jealous. "Yeah," I said, "I'm going to stay around here. You go to Europe. I'm going to stay here, work around the house, and take care of my kids." Lance is going to Europe to expand the Kingdom of God. I'm staying here, playing Donkey Kong with Ethan, expanding the Kingdom of Kong. Don't get me wrong. It is a treat to be able to spend time with my kids. I really love it, but a twinge in me was jealous.

Lance called this morning. "HOPE YOU'RE HAPPY! I'M NOT GOING TO SWEDEN!" Why is he yelling at me? I just lamented a bit. I wanted him to go to Sweden. "What happened?" "I was standing on a footstool last night, hanging window blinds. I fell off, knocked out two teeth and can't raise my arm over my head." It was probably wrong, but I laughed and laughed. He'll go to Sweden later in the fall. He'll be ok. He may have to take a more rural ministry position if they can't fix his teeth, but it might be God's will.
