The Astronaut Miller

Charles Farmer: When I was a kid, they used to tell me that I could be anything I wanted to be, no matter what... and maybe I am insane, I don't know, but I still believe that.

The Astronaut Farmer is the latest movie we watched. It is the first in a while that we watched all the way through in one sitting. Danelle and I tend to watch half a movie after the kids go to sleep and then the second half the next night. It isn't so much a "page turner" and in fact moves a little slow. But it is about having a dream. It is about the sacrifice for the dream. It is about being doubted and even doubting yourself.

I would recommend it highly.

Welcome to Con Air

Con Air was on TV the other night. Call me shallow, but this is a well acted, well scripted, well filmed movie. Favorite Line: "Put the bunny back in the box." It has Nicholas Cage and John Cusack, two of my favorite actors, not to mention the freaky John Malkovich and Steve Buscemi, perfect for their criminal parts. A side part for Colm Meaney, one of the best Deep Space Nine guys... and you've got a really good movie.

Movies I want to See

It seems like there are a bunch of movies I want to see. I thought I would make a list for myself. They are in no particular order.

Crash, Cinderella Man, Walk the Line, Ray, King Kong, Syriana, Good Luck and Good Night, The Aviator, The 40 Year Old Virgin, A History of Violence, ...

Well that's a start. If I had to pick one, I think I'd pick Walk the Line.

20 Big Lies in the DaVinci Code

Here is an excellent breakdown of 20 major historical inaccuracies (my preferred title wouldn't have "big lies" in it).

I Am a Dog Whisperer

This article reminded me that my wife calls me a Dog Whisperer. Not because she thinks I am, but because she thinks that I think I am. And I admit, I have done a bit of dog whispering and I also freely and openly admit, either I'm not whispering well or the dogs have been a bit hard of hearing.
